Demand Forecast

Note: Available on Growth, Scale, and Power plans. Requires at least 30 days of order history.

Statistical models that predict future product sales based on your historical order data. The system automatically selects the best method based on how much data you have:

  • 12+ months of data uses Holt-Winters seasonal smoothing with weekly patterns
  • 3 to 12 months uses double exponential smoothing with trend detection
  • 1 to 3 months uses a 14-day moving average with wider confidence bands

Each product forecast shows:

  • Predicted daily units with upper and lower confidence bands
  • Peak month and seasonal multiplier (e.g., "November: 3.2x normal")
  • Day-of-week patterns showing which days sell the most
  • Data quality indicator so you know how reliable the forecast is
  • Confidence score based on data consistency and model fit

Select any product to see its forecast chart with shaded confidence bands. Products with fewer than 10 units sold or less than 30 days of data show an "Insufficient data" state.

Key Alerts

The Product Command Center flags:

  • Dead Stock products with inventory on hand but zero sales in the period
  • Slow Movers products with high days of stock that still have some sales
  • Missing Cost Data products without cost information cannot calculate margins and are flagged accordingly
