Shipping Operations

The Shipping Operations page gives you full visibility into carrier costs, delivery performance, and shipping destinations so you can optimize your fulfillment spend.

Find Your Way Around

Open Shipping Operations and choose Overview, Orders needing attention, Shipping by destination, or Carrier comparison. Choose the date range and shipping source for your review.

Orders needing attention helps you inspect shipping issues separately from the summary figures. Delivery and destination details depend on what your connected source supplies.

Manage Fulfillment Costs

Owners and admins can open Fulfillment costs. Use Cost sources to review recorded costs from connected services and manually added charges. Use Added costs to enter or import charges, review earlier entries, and manage fulfillment companies.

Carrier Comparison

A sortable table shows the performance of each carrier you use:

Carriers that cost 20% or more per shipment than your cheapest option are flagged with a visual indicator so you can identify potential savings.

Top Shipping Zones

A distribution view shows your top shipping destinations by percentage of total shipments. This helps you understand where your customers are located and whether regional carrier partnerships could reduce costs.

Data Source

Shipping data comes from your connected shipping or fulfillment source. If two sources cover the same shipments, Nummbas keeps their totals separate so costs are not counted twice.

Delivery-time and destination details appear only when the connected source supplies them. Shippo provides recorded label cost, label count, and carrier use. It does not currently supply delivery-time or destination details to Nummbas.

Add and Import Fulfillment Costs

Add fulfillment costs in Shipping Operations when they are not available from a connected provider. You can record individual charges and credits, enter a monthly bill, or import a CSV.

Add Fulfillment Costs

1. Open Shipping Operations from the dashboard navigation.
2. Open Fulfillment costs, then select Add fulfillment costs.
3. Choose Add a cost or Import CSV.
4. Choose the Entry type: Single cost or Monthly total.
5. Enter the company and cost details, then save or upload the file.

Owners and admins can manage fulfillment costs. The company is saved with your costs, so you can find and reuse it later. You can also open the cost editor in a separate window using Open in new window.

Single Costs and Credits

Use Single cost for an individual charge or adjustment. Enter the Charge date, Cost type, and Amount. For a refund, choose Credit under Charge or credit and enter the amount as a positive number.

Under Additional details, you can add the number of orders covered, an invoice number, and notes. Use Add a reference to record an order, shipment, invoice, or other reference. The reference helps you identify the charge; it does not automatically match it to a synced order.

Only enter Orders covered when those orders are not already counted on another charge. Nummbas uses this number to calculate cost per order.

Avoid Counting a Cost Twice

For Is this cost already included elsewhere?, choose:

• No, this is an additional cost when the charge is not already in your accounting records, carrier bills, or other entries. Nummbas adds it to connected costs.
• Yes, already included to keep the entry for reference and exclude it from cost totals.
• Not sure to keep it separate from connected costs until you know whether it overlaps.

Monthly Totals

Use Monthly total for a completed monthly bill. Enter the month, order count, pick and pack fees, shipping cost, and any storage or other fees. Do not also enter the individual charges covered by that monthly total.

Import a CSV

Choose Import CSV, select the entry type, and download its template. The file limit is 5 MB. Review the import result after uploading so you can correct any rejected rows.

Single-Cost Template

The required columns are date, category, and amount. Use a negative amount for a credit in the CSV.

Optional columns record orders covered, invoice details, references, and notes. The cost_treatment values are additional, already_recorded, and unknown, matching the choices described above. You can also upload a supported Flexport or ShipBob billing report.

Review and Correct Costs

Open Fulfillment costs in Shipping Operations to review Added costs. Choose a company if you have several, search the entries, sort the records, and use the page controls to see older costs. Select a row's edit or delete action to correct it.

Your added fulfillment costs contribute to shipping and expense reporting according to the entry's treatment. Nummbas keeps potentially overlapping sources separate so the same shipments are not counted twice. There is no automatic sync for these entries; add or import new costs as they become available.
