ShipStation
Connect ShipStation to pull in shipping metrics including total spend, cost per shipment, and on-time delivery rates.
Connection Method
API Key — Nummbas connects to your shipping data through the ShipEngine API, which powers ShipStation. You will need a ShipEngine API key.
How to Connect
- Go to Dashboard > Integrations
- Click Connect on the ShipStation card
- In the modal, follow these steps:
Getting Your ShipEngine API Key
- Go to dashboard.shipengine.com and sign in (or create a free ShipEngine account if you do not have one)
- Navigate to API Keys in the sidebar, or go directly to dashboard.shipengine.com/api-keys
- Click Create API Key and select Production
- Copy the key
Tip:
ShipEngine is the API platform behind ShipStation (both are part of Auctane). If you already use ShipStation for shipping, you may need to create a separate ShipEngine account at shipengine.com to get an API key. ShipEngine offers a free tier for API access.
Entering Your Key
Paste the ShipEngine API key into the Nummbas modal and click Connect.

- Business Insights — shipments, average cost per shipment, and total shipping spend so you can track how much fulfillment is costing your business over time
- Expense Intelligence — shipping costs automatically appear as an expense category, making it easy to see what percentage of your revenue goes toward getting products to customers
- Insight Rules — automated alerts when your on-time delivery rate drops below healthy levels or when your shipping costs per order are higher than expected, so you can act before customers start complaining
- Business Reports — shipping cost analysis included in relevant reports, helping you spot trends like rising carrier rates or shifts in where your customers are ordering from
Troubleshooting
- Connection failed — Double-check that you are using a ShipEngine Production API key, not a Sandbox key. Sandbox keys will not pull real shipping data. If you do not have a ShipEngine account, you can create one for free at shipengine.com.
- Data not appearing after connecting — The initial sync can take a few minutes. Check the integration status on the Integrations page to confirm the sync is in progress. If your ShipStation account has no recent shipments, there will be no data to display.
- Stale or outdated numbers — Nummbas syncs your shipping data automatically every 4 hours. You can trigger a manual sync from the Integrations page if you need the latest numbers right away.
