Plaid
Connect a business bank account through Plaid. Nummbas reads balances and transactions to show cash, debt, known costs, and Cash Runway. Nummbas cannot move money or make changes to your bank account.
Plaid is available on paid plans when bank connections are enabled for your account. Each bank connection uses one integration slot.
Who Can Manage a Bank Connection
- Owners and admins can connect, repair, add, and disconnect a bank.
- Members can see the bank name, connection status, and last sync time.
- Bank setup is available on the Nummbas website. The mobile app shows status and bank-based results, but it does not open bank setup.
Supported Banks and Countries
Nummbas asks Where is your bank? before Plaid opens. Choose the country where the bank account is held. This may be different from the country where your business is registered.
The list shows the countries currently available for Nummbas. A bank is supported when it appears in the Plaid bank search for the country you chose. Bank availability can vary by country.
How to Connect
- Go to Dashboard > Integrations
- Find Plaid
- Select Connect Bank
- Choose the country where your bank account is held
- Continue to Plaid and find your bank
- Sign in and choose the accounts you want to share
- Return to Nummbas
Your bank connection appears in Nummbas as soon as setup is complete. The first sync starts automatically.
What Nummbas Reads
Nummbas can read:
- The current balance for the bank accounts you choose
- Account type and debt balances
- Posted transactions, including the date, amount, description, category, and currency
Nummbas uses read-only access. It cannot make payments, transfer money, or change your bank account.
Plaid handles the secure bank sign-in. Nummbas does not receive your bank password.
When Your Data Will Be Ready
Your bank balance may appear before your full transaction history. The first history sync can take longer for some banks.
Check the Plaid card on the Integrations page to see its status and last sync time. Nummbas will keep refreshing the connection after the first sync.
Cash Runway From Plaid
Nummbas uses complete QuickBooks or Xero data first when it is available for the period. If complete accounting data is not available, Nummbas can use your connected bank activity to estimate Cash Runway.
The bank estimate becomes available when:
- Your bank history is ready
- At least 90 days of activity is available
- A current cash balance is available
- Every included transaction can be shown in your Nummbas currency
The Cash Runway card shows:
- A number of days when cash is falling
- Growing when cash grew over the period
- Steady when cash stayed level over the period
The note below the result names the number of bank connections used and the exact date range. It does not assume that every business bank account is connected.
The estimate leaves out pending transactions, transfers between your own accounts, credit card payments, loans, owner funding, owner draws, and other financing activity.
Plaid can provide a bank-based Cash Runway estimate without QuickBooks or Xero. Net Profit and Net Margin still need complete accounting data.
Using Plaid With QuickBooks or Xero
You can connect Plaid and an accounting platform at the same time. Plaid can provide current bank activity, while QuickBooks or Xero provides your full books.
When complete accounting data is ready, Nummbas uses it for Cash Runway. If it is not complete for the period, Nummbas may show the qualified bank estimate instead. The note below the result tells you which bank connections and dates were used.
Add Another Bank
If your plan allows more than one Plaid connection, open Plaid on the Integrations page and select Add another. Each new bank connection uses another integration slot.
Repair a Connection
If Plaid shows Needs attention, open that connection and select Reconnect. Complete the bank steps again to restore access.
Repairing an existing connection does not use another integration slot. Bank delays and short service interruptions are retried automatically.
Disconnect and Delete Bank Data
Select Disconnect on the Plaid connection you want to remove. If you have more than one bank connection, make sure you choose the correct bank.
Nummbas removes access to that bank and deletes the bank data saved for that connection. If the bank service is temporarily unavailable, the card will show that disconnection is still in progress until it can finish safely.
